Adirondack Wool and Arts Festival (10:00 AM)
Washington County Fairgrounds, Greenwich, NY
The Southern Adirondack Fiber Festival is now the Adirondack Wool and Arts Festival.

Established in 2008 and part of the Washington County Fair located in Greenwich, New York, this festival is a celebration of how agriculture plays an important role in arts. Through the production of natural animal fibers (wool and fleece) yarns are produced and made into beautiful arts and fashions. Specialty soaps, healing arts, craft beverages, photography, pottery, jewelry, and more... All items have a start in agriculture or a connection to agriculture.
Under its new name, the event will continue to offer the public education on the products produced in fiber arts, raw fleece, roving, spinning supplies, needle felting, dyes, yarns, and items needed to knit, crochet, and weave.
The change to the title of the festival was made to represent the additions that this year's and future festivals will include. New artisans and vendors will include pottery, body care products, healing arts, jewelry, culinary arts, craft beverage producers, leather, paper crafts, photography, printmaking, sculpture, wood arts, and more.

Are you interested in participating in this year's festival? For details and vendor application visit:

varies
Come out on Sunday September 23 beginning at Noon for a fall paddle & clean up at three sites on the Battenkill. Battenkill Conservancy is once again inviting the any and all river lovers to meet at one of 3 launch sites to enjoy a group paddle and clean up of the river. Volunteers will meet at one of three designated sites to launch a canoe or kayak and collect cans and other debris deposited along a specific stretch of the river. For the upper stretch of the paddle and clean up, Battenkill Valley Outdoors, located on Route 313, will be offering equipment and shuttle services for a limited number of volunteers. The 2nd meet up site will begin at the Schmidt Meadow Preserve off Skellie Road in Jackson and go down river to the Hollingsworth & Vose Center Falls take out area.
